Dalmatians are very protective dogs and can be aggressive towards humans. They are very active and need lots of exercise. They have very sensitive natures and an excellent memory. This bred is famed for their intelligence, indepedence, and survival instincts.
Weight: 40-70 lbs.
Origin: Yugoslavia
Unlike their name suggest, these dogs are not typically aggressive by nature. They are bright, energetic and playful breed. Boxers have been known to be "headstrong", which makes it a bit difficult to train them but with positive reinforcement techniques, Boxers often respond much better.
Weight: 50-70 lbs.
Origin: Germany
Originally bred to guard and fight with cattle, an attack by this dog has been described as hopeless for the victim. They are a guardian breed with man-stopping ability, incredible power and a complete lack of fear.

Origin: Canary Islands
These dogs can be aggressive if poorly bred. The Chow Chow may appear to be independent and aloof for much of the day but needs constant reinforcement.
Weight: 50-70 lbs.
Origin: China
Dobermans are great guard dogs for their alertness, intelligence and loyalty. They can be agressive dogs when provoked. The typical pet Doberman attacks only if it believes that it, its property, or its family are in danger.

Origin: Germany
These dogs are very energetic and active. If they are bored, they can become destructive. That's why this dog needs lots of exercise to be happy.
Weight: 75-100 lbs.
Origin: Nordic
Very energetic and intelligent dogs. Not considered a good guard dog because of its personality characteristics and gentle temperament. A 2000 study of dog bites resulting in human fatalities in the U.S. found fifteen such fatalities (6% of the total) were caused by "husky-type" dogs between 1979 and 1997.
Weight: 44-66 lbs.
Origin: Alaska
These dogs are intelligent and very alert. They are highly used by local authorities such as the police K-9 unit. German shepherds are known to be fearless and confident dogs.
Weight: 70-100 lbs.
Origin: Germany
Rottweilers are known to be very aggressive dogs because of their keen territorial instincts. That's why they make great guard dogs.
Weight: 100-130 lbs.

Dogs most often make wonderful pets, however in certain circumstances, any type of dog can be dangerous. Even friendly dogs, can inflict great harm in the wrong circumstance.

Dalmatians are from Croatia not Yugoslavia... :)

CROATIA used to be part of yugoslavia before it broke up

Pit Bulls aren't as dangerous as you say. It' depends on the trainer and the surrounding that they live.

you are so right

The most dangeros dog is argentinian doga

Did you just type "argentinian doga"? Learn how to spell its name first hun! They are beautiful dogs.

Their is a lot of things said here that are true and untrue. For instance, pit bulls are loving/caring just like any other can be. I have three pit bulls, one which is inside and they are always well taken care of just like my two children. No I don't live on food stamps just like someone was saying or fight my dogs at all. That is considered animal cruelty and you wouldn't do that to any of your children. As far as reports and the news, they only report when a pit bull attacks. At times it isn't even a true pit bull and everyone thinks they are. Anyways, it depends on how they are treated and the enviroment they live in. I hope some of you will do some real researching before posting any negative comments. Get the facts, not what you have heard.
sunny_cruse
are you talkin to me cuz if you are I got facts hun

The Pic for number one...Thats not even a pure bred American Pitbull Terrier. That animal is a mutt. a mix between a APBT, a mastif, and chances are a bulldog. "Breeders" as they like to call themselves, mix these dogs into the bloodlines to produce larger neck and headsize and the shorter aggressive stance. whoever made this list is an idiot. research before you spew your filth to the public.

Anonymous
who ever posted this is huge idiot..why the hell would u post something like this... i have a rotty and staffordshire bul terrier and every one who see my rotty loved her why is that cus i trained her to be like this so dont u come here and start this bull shit, its the owner fault not the dog the owner who have bad repetation not the dog so get a fucking life and stop filling ppl minds with ur filth

Here in the UK German Shepherds used to be the macho status symbol for young men - particularly those involved in drug-dealing or worse. At that time attacks and fatalities were likely to be from that breed more than any other.
But fashions changed, so the Rottweiler took over as the new dog-to-be-seen-with. Nobody wants to mess with a skinny teenager with his Rotty on a short chain now do they? Yet there were some horrendous child deaths caused by 'family' Rottweilers; one of the worst being a baby in its pram by the guy's THREE 'pets'.
Now its bull terriers - not Pit Bulls over here, but Staffies - that have become the problem. The children of these (as you call them) 'low-lifes' are frequently mauled by these dogs, but no deaths to date that I know of. Thanks goodness the bigger US breed isn't readily available here or Lord knows what these idiots could do to, and with, them.
So, I'm not saying its the fault of the dogs. However some breeds need to be handled with a little more care than they currently receive from the type who think they need a dog instead of a gun. I'm sure all the dog lovers out there would agree?
Anonymous
hi i read ur comment and i do agree a little bit with u ,, as for staffies i do have a staffie myself and i dont agree with anyone who say that staffies are aggrassive staffies are really loving caring dogs just like any other dogs who's been raised the roght way as for Pit bull this dog comes from staffie originally and its been banned from uk wich i dont think its fair just cus they have bad repatation,,its not the dog whos got a bad repatation its the owner,,, one think i cant stand is how drug dealers these day they buy themselves a dog like a rotty or staffie or even pit bull i am totally against this they train them to be aggrassive,,and thats wrong
anyone who wants to get a dog they should raise up the right and in clean inviroment..
VonWalsingham
I agree. 40-50 years ago here in the States German Shepherds were said to be aggressive and vicious...then Doberman Pinschers. The reason why Pit Bulls are so focused upon right now is due to media attention.
We didn't have news channels focusing in on dog fighting and drug dealing 40-50 years ago.

I will tell you I own both a mal and a Husky and both are amazing. Aggressive bull my mal who is 85lbs has been attacked twice by my mom's mini pom, she is a loving and kind dog who adapts to all enviroments. It is the owner and time spent. This whole list are big dogs and stats are little dogs attack more.....check the numbers...
pitbulls_malamutes10
I definately agree with you; I own a pure bred malamute, who's 95 lbs., and the whole time i've had her I've lived in apartments. She is sooooooooooooo unbeliveably calm when having to be kept inside all day; she'll just lay around wherever and stay until we tell her to move or take her out, she's not hyper at all.

im a owner dog and have owned pit bull cross all my life now i own a mutt who is aggressive more aggressive than any dog iv had so far becaues people kick her. I save her from getting a beating from some kids because of this she bites but she never did this untill her friend who was a pit bull cross was taking away from me the guy pick to take him becaues he had pit bull in him becaues of people are giveing them bad names he was put asleep this shows that all dogs will bite and some people think all pit bulls need to die. all i can say is dont be sad people dogs are part of family lives and you givening them bad names just destroyeds it.(just so you know my pit bull cross never bit anyone so dont try and make it so)(I would like to say even Labrador will bite i know so becaues one down my road has biten a kid)

Here's a problem with the pit bull "facts"- Pitbulls CANNOT lock their jaws. This is the problem with uneducated people opening their mouths before the read the facts. This is part of why there is so much discrimination against this breed- false information is fed to the people.
Anonymous
Unmitigated BS to play word game and dismiss use of word "lock" jaws. I have SEEN VIDEOS of pit bull attacks in progress, and, have heard actual victim statements about being attacked by pit bulls. The tenacity of the dogs's bites ABSOLUTELY DOES qualify as perception of "locked" jaw, regardless any denial you can conjure to dismiss use of that word.
Anonymous
There have been studies proving that pit bulls don't have lockjaw. Their jaws are like any other dog's. Don't believe me? Go to search wikipedia for pit bull, where they back but their shit! You've seen videos of "lock jaw"? Well I've seen videos of "aliens" so they must be real. You've heard actual victims tell their story? They probably deserved to get mauled in the first place. And I'm sure their testimonities surpasses in accuracy with that of scientists.
Is it because of lock jaw that my pittie will drop whatever when I say "drop it?" their tendencies to maul huh? Funny how my dog has never bitten me and the ones that do are those damn "teacup" poodles and the worst is people think its cute! My APBT is the sweetest, silly and most patient dog I've ever had the pleasure to be around. When I come home she gets so excited and all she wants to do is snuggle up to me. Her favorite thing is getting her nails painted in which she lays on her back for 20 minutes, legs up, completely still waiting for the paint to dry! She loves getting dressed up in her sweaters and coats when its cold. And most of all she loves people. She will want to crawl into a stranger's lap at the first time meeting them. Does she sound dangerous to you?
I'm so sick of all the bullshit people make up to put down this wonderful breed. APBT's are beautiful, curious, courageous, intelligent, clowns, and are eager to please. Why are these dogs being punished for the sins of thugs and lowlifes that abuse and mistreat them? THEY are who we need to ban, not the dogs.
PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED
Ps. That picture is not of a pit bull. That is a hippo-pit-timus. Pits are not supposed to look like that. I'm 99% sure its breeder are stupid BYB's, probably claiming Razors Edge and/or Gotti Line as well. THEY need to be banned too.
ilovemyminirexCoco
DO YOUR SEARCH BEFORE YOU SPEACK!! Pitbulls CANOT lock their jaws THATS A MYTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

I have both a 2 year old Chow chow and a Pit Bull Puppy, as well as a daschund who is meaner than both of them. Thorugh proper socialization and training, the dogs are the sweetest you could ever meet. They are great with our one year old son, and we couldn't ask for more. Lists like this are the reason why nobody will give pitts a chance.
sunny_cruse
your right I have 3 pitts and I have a 3 yr old son a 8 yr old son and a 6 yrs lil girl and my dogs would never hurt them they play and lick you to death the sweetest dogs alive all you got to do is give them love like you would any dog
Anonymous
This post is bullshit! What the hell did they go by? Hell I know more incidents of people getting bit by chihuahuas! It's all about if the dog is properly raised...I'm so tired of this shit
Anonymous
No dangerous dogs? Hm. How is it that so many who claim to be experts about dogs are 100% ignorant that certain breeds historically WERE BRED FOR AGGRESSION?
Anonymous
Just because a dog was historically bred for agression does not in and of itself make them a dangerous dog. Virtually every single breed of dog was at one point or another bred to be agressive in some form or another. Whether it was for hunting rodents or bull baiting... just because a dog was once bred for agression doesn't mean squat.
Anonymous
I have a Rotti and also Chihuahuas.... which will "attack" first? Well, the Rotti MAY knock you on the ground while licking you to death... but the Chihuahua will bite you bringing you to your knees.... OR maybe they just work together.... The Rotti licking you 1/2 to death -knocking you to the ground in the process sooooo the Chi can reach you and bite your butt?!
Anonymous
As a longtime shelter worker, I can tell you that many of the small "toy breeds" will bite before any of the breeds mentioned. Can they do as much damage? No, of course not, but I would get a pitbull out of a cage anyday before a chihuahua!
Anonymous
I to have one of these so called dangerous dogs(doberman). If you could get the toy out of her mouth you might get her to bite but if you would get it out she would just sit there and wait for you to throw it
Anonymous
I find this article pointless. Dogs are dogs and people are people. Just like people, dogs learn to act as they have been treated. If someone treats a dog horribly then it will likely act horribly. Also, the article doesn't mention anything about intact males being more aggressive or females in heat. There are always circumstances that the media seem to leave out. Was the dog locked in the basement with no human contact? Was the dog kicked, shot, or hurt? Was the dog malnourished? Dogs have basic needs just like we do and when those needs are not provided we all act crazy, including dogs. Try starving yourself for a few days and see if you feel aggressive. Wait, you can just run to McDonald's and buy your greasy big mac and fries. Guess what? Dogs can't do that.
Anonymous
Some people are born stupid. Yes, its true, and some dogs are BORN DANGEROUS. There are several factors that play into a dogs likelihood to harm a human but I'll dicuss the two important ones. 1. Breeding-psychologists have proven that human children are more likely to have psychological problems if their parents did. It is the same with any species. Bad qualities can be inherent in a certain line of people or animals. ALL DOG BREEDS ARE MAN MADE!!! All breeds were bread by people to give dogs specific characteristics. If a breed was created and bred to be aggressive (pit bull) that means they took the most aggressive dogs and bred them together, yes this totally affects the puppies. 2. Experience-a dog can be made more or less aggressive due to its experiences. However, if you take an aggressive breed and raise it well, it will not become a Golden Retreiver. It will still have its genetics, you have simply taught them which urges to reject. That does not mean they do not have the same urges. If you want to get a pit bull, buy only from a known line that has been bred for temperament. It is possible to reverse breed aggression out of a dog line. It is also possible to breed aggression into ANY dog line.
Anonymous
You are retarded. By the way, it's "bred" not "bread".
jake122334
Sorry, but pitbulls werent bred to be aggressive, you obviously have no idea what your talking about
They were bred to be aggressive to dogs, not people, even fighting dogs are not human aggressive
you obviously have never researched anything about pitbulls
ilovemyminirexCoco
Yeah, I know and I was watching "Faithful friends" and pits locking their jaws is so a myth!
Anonymous
I don't know who wrote this crap about pit bulls. their jaws do not lock. my pit has been bit at petco and petsmart BY OTHER DOGS,while he sits there waiting for me to pay and does nothing. guess that shoots down that they will take on any opponent.
why arent chilhuachuas or cocker spaniels on the list? they seem to display plenty of aggressive traits? i don't think i have ever seen a chilhuahua that doesn't bark like a freaking nut.
Anonymous
I have owned 3 large German shepherds and 1 very stupid golden retriever over the years and have always raised them up from puppies, I have never ever had and concern with any of these even when they have been protecting the home they have done what has been required of them ( barking and looking very mean and nasty - even run up and chase a stranger away from the house)but have never ever bitten any one.
I have now taken on a 4 month old female rotty who likes to push boundaries (same as a child would) and i have disciplined the dog the same way i would a child - with a sharp firm "NO" , I honestly believe that a dog should be brought up as if it was your own child - that way you cant really go wrong ( unless you are the owner of the juvenile delinquents that hang about outside the off license).
Yes I have been bitten before but not by any large sized dog, it was by a little ancle snapper IE a jack russel, these little dogs are more of a worry to me than any rotty etc.
pitbulls_malamutes10
your dog definately has a great personality if it didn't react. I own two pits, and they will clamp down on their toys, when I play with them, but I have been able to train them to let go on command; so much for LOCKING JAWS.
Anonymous
the way your dog will behave and react to different situations, depends on how you bring him/her up.....just like a child!!!! we hve 3 kids and a Rotti.never have met such a gentle dog,but keeps the kids in check.
Anonymous
I have owned 3 breeds on this list (2 at the same time). I have had a "Pit Bull" FYI: learn the breeds. He was the most loving, careful (not to hurt you) dog I ever owned. At the same time I had a Rottie. The only mean bone in him was kicking me off the bed. He was a 115lb teddy bear. he loved kids as much as the Staff. Terrier. Now I have a Doberman. Hands down the smartest dog I have ever met. She is a 68lb lap dog whos main goal in life is to lick ones face until you cry. We had guests over that had a 2 yearold son. They never actually sat next to a doberman and wouldnt let the kid go near her. I asked them to trust me, they did. I put the 2 next to each other on the floor and they were best friends for the rest of the night. I think my dog thought she was babysitting.
In the end, I think its the owner 98% of the time. And for the record, I HAVE been bit by 3 dogs. All under 35lbs.
Anonymous
If you raise them right...blah blah blah...all I can say is read any newspaper article on people being mauled or killed by dogs. Which breed is usually the attacker? Of course, it's usually the "sweet, gentle, wouldn't-hurt-a-fly" Pitbull. This is not to say that ANY dog couldn't attack, but statistics speak for themselves and the majority of fatal attacks are Pits. With so many other breeds available, why anybody would want a Pit is a mystery to me...unless they have to prove something.
Anonymous
I totally agree with you. I think it is a power thing. Seriously, not to be stereotypical, but the people I know who own pittbulls are people that are "power-heads", they want to be Tough and Intimidating and this only adds to their power!
Anonymous
This is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard! I rescue dogs (really any animal I see loose &/or in danger....and so far with a 100% success rate for finding their owners)& out of all the dogs I have had jump into my car with me to get out of harms way, the ONLY dog that has ever snapped &/or been aggressive was this little, fat (football w/ toothpicks for legs), bug-eyed looking dog & I tell you what, had it not been raining & such bad conditions outside, I probably would have put it right back where I found it & said to hell with it. But I didn't b/c I love animals, & not 3 min down the road & I have this ugly rat dog latched onto the back of my arm! Ouch! I was bleeding & everything....had to pull over, regroup, drop the dog @ my house & then rush to the ER. Had to be stiched up & was lucky that was the only damage. ANY DOG CAN BE AGGRESSIVE & MEAN! The only breed the media talks about though is the Pit Bull...why??? well, b/c of people like you who feed on it!! Why do they talk about celebrities...b/c there are people who thrive off that kind of information!! My pit bull I rescued from the pound is such a sweetheart!! I have brought MANY stray dogs home (while I locate their owners) & she thinks its great!! A friend to play with for a few days & one she doesn't have to share the bed with!! You need to research before you speak out w/ all your "opinionated" info!! I have nothing to prove except how much I love LOLA!!!
pinkfox
if you have never owned a certain breed of dog how can people be so cruel when posting their comments.i was raised to be afraid of all dogs only because my mom was afraid. why? because of what she read in the news.i would have loved to have had a dog in my younger yrs. i got over my fears when i was 35yrs. old, when i met a guy who bred pitts,oh i thought he was out of his mind and i would not go near them (6 at the time)but on day he called and asked me could i feed the six,i thought i would die.i had observed him feeding them over 100 or so times, but me hell no.then he said monique trust me they will not hurt you,so after about 4hrs of just standing at the pen i finally went in.i was amazed these were not puppies mind you, all were well over a 1yrs old.when i stepped inside coco his oldest female backed up so did i.i showed no aggres.and neither did she.i spoke to her tring to clam my own nerves then she approached me.everything went well and now i own a pitt.his name is remy.anything with teeth can bite.even you and i.lol lol
wildfire_11
I have to disagree with this statement. I have been raised around pit bulls my entire life. They are, for the most part, not the dogs you hear about on the news. Yes, they are reported on more often then any other breed, however, that is only because people expect this behavior from this breed. Noone says anything about the Lab or the Retriever that bit the neighbors kid. Why is that I wonder? Is it maybe because this behavior is not expected? You ask anyone who has ever truely spent any time around the pit bull breed. They are truely amazing dogs! They are loving, loyal, protective and excellent with kids of any age!
gunny
This is something most will do. Look at the press as the word of gold. The press are out for a good story. Look at most of these attacks on tv they tend to be the same ones over and again and years apart. I can tell you the press don't have a good track record of reporting the whole truth. Most of the world liston to what's said in the press with no experience of their own same with talk shows it's all a numbers game to them. You can not always believe what you hear or see. Don't get me wrong not all is this way but we are told what they want us to hear, while it may not all be lies it's sometimes not all the story. I have seen this many times with the war.
Anonymous
It really frustrates me that people come out with these stupid lists because their usually a load of crap. I know that more dogs are naturally agressive and all of that but it really depends on how the owner has raised them. Of course when people think of agressive dogs they think of Pit Bulls and Rottweilers. Well I have a pure bred Rottweiler that is 150 pounds and he is a huge teddy bear. We raised him to be friendly and he is. I also have a Husky/German Shepherd that is a very nice. She isn't that great with kids but she is very friendly. She only gets mean when she has food. And all of these breeds get bad rap because those people that are mean, they don't want a little Chiwauwa. They want a big intimidating dog so this stupid list never changes because the stupid mean people never change. And most times when dogs attack its not just out of nowhere. Their being provoked. Thats why so many little kids get attacked by these sort of dogs because they don't know that their not supposed to pull the dogs tail or pat it really hard. grr
