First year vet costs for a cat

Well I took my kittens yesterday for the first vet visit. They had 2 shots and were wormed.
Cost was $96 together. Also there is getting the kitten spayed or neutered. I think it's close to $100 by the time they include the office visit, overnight, procedure.

So I'm thinking $150 ish to $200 and that is just general, not if the kitten gets sick.

What? $150-200? That's so expensive.

We have a cat but just the ordinary one with pretty short hair. We never have our cats vaccinated. We only give vaccines to the dogs.

Is the cat somehow not as worthy as the dog? Why would you treat one and not the other?

If you are worried about emergency care costs for the animals, you can take on pet insurance.

I didn't say the cat isn't worthy as the dog. It's just that in the place where I lived, cats are not commonly given vaccinations and I don't know why.

Is it as important to get a cat all of its vaccines if it is going to be an inside only cat and no other animals are in the house?
