I just got back from taking the kittens to the vet. It was their first check-up.

They both weight 4.4 pounds. Great shape, no fleas or any problems. Yeah!

They were both vaccinated for rabies and distemper and 3 other viral shots (all in 1). Total cost to me was $96 for all this.

They were also dewormed- even though I haven't seen any traces.

I was thinking it would be more- I know the spaying will be.

Well, not bad!
Spaying may cost some but it is very important, I'm sure you know that.
If Bob Barker says it, it has to be true!!!

Be good to your pets, Aren't they good to you?

I used to cringe when taking kittens to the vet. They seem awfully small to be getting shots!

No worse than taking a two month old baby in for a million shots. It always amazes me when people have issues with pets getting them but not kids.

My cat was done through the adoption program with the local humane society. It only cost $30 because they feel passionately about getting it done.

My older cat I got at the lollipop farm (humane society) cost was $75 and she had all her shots and was fixed already.

Of course I will get them fixed.. it's very important. I don't want any kitties here.... Although they are male kittens. There are way too many kittens and cats that are unwanted. Breaks my heart.

Well if you look hard enough you can usually find spay/neuter programs that will give you a discount for the procedure. I got my last cat done for around $20 so that wasn't so bad.

Wow. You really loved your cats so much for doing such things. :) I'm not so sure if the cats here in our place are given vaccinations and stuffs like that. But one thing for sure I know is that the dogs are vaccinated.

That is sad-- dogs are treated differently than cats.

I treat all pets the same. Vet- good care. I think having a pet is a responsibility and you have to be sure to take care of them.
