Having had both I have to wonder what people prefer. Besides the exceptions, with a pure breed dog you know what kind of personality they will have. With a mutt, you get what you get. My parents have had nothing but mix breeds for the last 10 years. With the exception of me, all of them were on their way to the pound because they were mixed. We all have different personalities and for the most part are sweet members of the family. I am such a mutt that I am a rare breed (what an oxymoron) and registered with the UKC. But if you look at all the information on American Dingo's you will read that we are reserved and somewhat suspiscious of others. Not the outgoing and friendly puppy I have turned out to be. I think my parents had a lot to do with that because from the day they got me they have taken me out and let people love on me. Now I have a job as a therapy dog along with my lab/pitbull sister Lilly.

Besides us mixed puppies my parents have had to many pure breed dogs to list over their lifetimes and all have been well loved. Most have been loving and smart but mommy tells me with the exception of having more dingos she will only have rescued mixed breed dogs from now on. She said she can't save the world but she can save a few!!!!

Untill next time.....Buck

And with purbreeds you might get a black lab even though both are brown labs! I think it is so cool to see how one breed+breed looks like! It's amazing!!!!

pure breed is better. think like this; imagine you mix 2 chemicals together, you can have issues with the outcome or the effect wont be as great as if it were pure!with a pure bred you are getting the best from that dog and basically you know what you are dealing with.whereas if its mixed its all guessin.

I have pit mixes and pure pits and I don't a see a difrence. All I see with a mix is your saving a life.

I do agree when you mix,you are just gussing what they'll be like, but other than that there really is no difrence,

A dog's a dog. Plain and simple. Short and sweet

a pitmix is not a true pit but we are not talking about saveing the dogs life we are talking about wicth is better a mix or a pure l would never get a mix because you really have to be carefully when mixing a dog

That's just the way I look at it. You do have to be very careful mixing, you never know what comes out!

My friend told me he loved mini pinchers and daschods, loved the breeds and the attatuid, mixed together, Ugg! Don't get me started! The second they came out "Grrr!!!" "arraarararrarararararararararararar" great dogs when ppure, little brats when mixed, I sort of agree, with you don't know what you'll get!

most of the dogs l look after are not the pure they are the mixs breed for some reason they are more shy more aggressive towards other dogs and people but with the pure you really dont get that much trouble from them

as a dog breeder and also a trainer should have know that you canot compare a pure agaist a mix because just because its got part of a breed its not the breed at all

I really don't mind and I know that they are barly the breed at all, and they are usually good dogs unless you inbred. That's why alot of mutts are mean, inbreding brother and sister in breding mother and son. It's sad!
