When I was in university, I hadn't the space to keep a larger animal. Yet I still wanted something with me-companion animals who were more intelligent than the average rodent.

So I ended up with a beautiful pair of fancy rats. They had huge personalities-so different from the other!

I had them a couple of years-they don't live as long as some rodents, but I look forward to keeping rats again.

Rats? You mean the white ones? I don't have any experiences with keeping a rat as a pet. I would prefer cats instead. :) Cats are a great companion.

I mean fancy rats-hooded in my case. They had white bodies, one with a black face and stripe down the back and another that had a pale tan head. Beautiful animals, as intelligent as a small dog and loyal too-they need company.

My niece has a hairless rat. She named him Mr. Fuzzy, hehehe. He is cute and cuddly. He will crawl up in your lap and snuggle.

I don't like rats. I would prefer to have a cat in an apartment. Cats are nice and sweet and they will kiss all your worries away.

A hairless rat?! I have never heard of that before. Is it like a rex cat, that is all wrinkly and nasty skin?

Rats can actually be good pets, as long as they haven't spent anytime in a lab environment.

rats can be a great pet.
they are intelligent and can provide hours of fun for people of all ages.
We have a hamster now. We only had a ten gallon tank, so we could not get a rat.

My sissy has a fancy blue rat named Petunia. I would love to play with her but mommy says she is not a squeeky toy! My mommy and daddy really love her too. She lives in a 10g tank with a special wire top on it that gives her three levels of play. They buy her bird toys with bells and provide her with food made for pet rats. My daddy brings her out all the time and gives her kisses. Mommy lets her sit on her shoulder and help her type on the puter too. They used to have more but they all have died of old age. Tunnie sure is one lucky rat!!

Untill next time.....Buck

Rats seem to be very intelligent. I do not find them despicable or rodents as some people do.

Lab

I love all things furry! =p
