Too Old for an African Grey?

My mother wants an African Grey Parrot because she saw one on t.v.

I heard that these birds can live for over 20 years, and my mother is in her 70's.

Isn't she a bit too old for this sort of commitment?

I am no expert on Parrots but I have to ask if she would be able to handle the attention it asks for and the needs it has. I need more taking care of then a Parakeet does.

Never too old

African Greys are incredibly smart animated charachters. They outlive many owners, my mom has one and part of her vocabulary comes from her prior owner who passes away. I love that bird think she is almost human in ways. The only big problem is she likes to throw her seed every now and again when she gets a lil cranky. She is near the kitchen and the tile is easy to vacuum up.
