Rottweiler Dogs and Puppies

Appearance

The markings on the chest should form two distinct upside-down triangles, and even a tiny patch of white in between is not acceptable for show dogs. The FCI standard lists the male Rottweiler standing at 61 to 68 cm (24-27 inches) at the withers and 56 to 63 cm (22-25 inches) for the Rottweiler females. Average weight of the Rottweiler male is around 42 kg (95 pounds) for female Rottweilers.

Temperament

Within the hands of a responsible Rottweiler owner, a socialized and well trained Rottweiler can be an alert dog, very reliable and a loving companion. However, a poorly trained Rottweiler as is any dog can become a danger or nuisance in the wrong raising environment. Overall, Rottweilers are great with children, quick to learn, very devoted and eager to please. Rottweilers are overall very bright dogs. They are very playful animals who will frequently demand attention from their owners.
