Zebra tarantulas are burrowing tarantulas. They live in humid grasslands. Other sources claim it is a rainforest species.
Zebra tarantulas can grow to about 4-5 inches (10-13 cm) including legspan. They will live up to 20 years. Males however, will live a much shorter life of about 5 years. Other sources claim a life of only 13 and 3 years, respectively.
The zebra tarantula's diet consists of many insects. In the wild, they will eat insects such as cockroaches. In captivity they will eat crickets with no problem, the best to feed these animals is grub worms, they are high in calcium.
