A Lhasa Apso's coat is generally best when kept at a good length and all colors of the dog are acceptable. The tail is generally in a tight screw over the back.
The Lhasa was bread to be a watch dog or sentinel and thus is always alert. The dog has a fine sense of hearing with rich bark that does not seem possible with their small size. Though small, Lhasa's can give periods of brief vivacious energy and their unique personalities have garnered them the reputation of being very fearless and an emotive breed.
When properly raised, the Lhasa will appreciate hair combing, cutting and bathing. The dog makes for an excellent companion and does very well with families and children.
