The images of Pugs appearing in eighteenth century prints tend to be long and lean, however the modern Put breed physically is cobby, square, compact, with well developed muscle and a deep chest. The Pugs heads are carried on a somewhat arched neck and is round and substantial. These physical features server to accentuate the Pugs bulging, large and dark eyes. The wrinkles on Pugs foreheads are generally deep and distinct, and are generally prized by the Chinese. The ears of the PUg are soft and smooth.
Pugs are generally very sociable dogs, and also usually very stubborn. Pugs, however are extremely playful, clever and charming, often known to succeed in dog obedience skills. Sensitive to the tone of human voice, makes harsh punishment of Pugs generally unnecessary. Most Pugs will get along very will with other pets and dogs, however overall Pugs generally prefer the company of people and enjoy a great deal of attention. If they are ignored by their owner, Pugs may become agitated or anxious, however many Pugs can occupy themselves in short time while their owner is away. In general, Pugs are always attentive to their master and make a great pet.
