I got the big snip when I was about 6 months old, before Mommy knew what I was. She now wishes she did not get me fixed but she is happy that I never learned bad habbits! So I will remain a puppy for the rest of my life.

That's unaltered dogs for ya. They need extra training to teach them what they can do and not do. It is hard work but worth it. Gunner is unaltered and is reasonably well behaved but he likes to pee on everything outside. That makes Mommy mad sometimes because she does not want him to pee on her flowers.

I will admit that basic canid behavior is based on who is dominate. Pack dynamics demand a strong leadership role for the success of the family unit. Proper training is key to this in the home. The closer the dog is to it's wild ancesters the easier or harder it is, depending on it's personality. It can also be easier if the dog is fixed prior to the onset of puberty due to the fact that hormone levels are still low. Dominance in its pure form stems from the need to breed.

Scent marking is done by every member of the pack to some degree so even if you don't see it, don't think it is not being done. Besides urin, dogs have glands at the base of their tail and they use that to communicate also.

My friend, now we see eye to eye. I am sorry that my banter made you uncomfortable. All you had to say was stop and I would have. It is so easy to hide behind this screen and be whatever we want. I kind of liked being a little dog, not a 40 year old woman with grown children. Of course I can never get into his mind but sometimes when I look into his soft brown eyes, I think I know what he is thinking. I bring two of my dogs to work with me sometimes and the only way to get some of my residents to show emotion is to talk for the dogs, to them. It is a great tool and works for children too. Now you know my mind, and my reasoning.

Fixing a dog does make a

Fixing a dog does make a difference to some degree. Ask any vet and they will tell you the same thing. But like I said training goes a long way. But also when a dog is fixed before puberty many of the adult behavior is snipped too. You need to lighten up a little. Some of us only have 40+ years experience with dogs and don't measure up to your self absorption. Some of us only have a masters degree in biology and don't know a thing or two about basic animal behavior. I mean, it is so hard to take someone serious who can't use basic punctuation, or who uses foul language at little children. I have tried to stay out of this but I can't anymore. This is supposed to be a place for folks to post questions and get some answeres. Then do a little homework. It is not your playground to abuse children who do not agree with you. You may find that others will stop posting anything directed towards you. It is an idea that I may just start now.

First off, I have not posted any pictures of myself besides the scuba diving one, which is a poor representation due to the fact that you can't see my face. But there are a few of the puppies with both my husband and daughter. So as to my gender, I am female. And I might add, does not fit the child predator profile. My profession is a nurse. I work with the Alzhimer residents in the special care unit at my place of employment. I recieved my PCA from Hand n Heart, my CNA at Hampton Roads School of Health Education, and my RN at Riverside school of nursing. Prior to that I was a school teacher. I recieved my masters from the college of William & Mary with tenure at Virginia Institute of Marine Science or VIMS for short. My specialty was, and I still have a great interest in, Pterophyllum scalare and others from the cichlidea genus. I have numerous papers published on the subject and also a book. My book is avalible through Lulu if you are interested in lining my pocket, as I don't turn down a buyer. If you are interested as to why I work as a nurse instead as a marine biologist, Biology is just a hobby and one I have had for more than 30 years. Nursing is a much more rewarding occupation.

Had you read any of my post with the slightest inclination toward inteligence, you would have noticed that proper training was always mentioned. My use of the third person is a writing style that any 5th grade student would understand, but it escapes you which only shows how insignificant your little mind is. If you wish to continue on this course, I will put you in your place. In fact, I will revel in it and the sheer joy will be evident to all who read. If you want to teach me anything, you will need to re-evaluate your curent actions and act accordingly. Or to put it in a way you might understand, act like a grown-up and not like a child.

Mrpitbull's bullying was bothering me so I told my parents about it and they don't want me to go on petsdo.com and his bullying was making me feel very small. And if I were mrpitbull, I would be very scared because you havn't met my parents! They arin't afraid to stand up for what's right and would stop at nothing to help me and my brothers.
